Helsinki, Finland – 25th February 2015 – Inventure, a leading early-stage venture capital company in the Nordics, has been the most active investor in Finland and one of the top three investors in the Nordics. During the past twelve months, Inventure has invested in fifteen innovative companies in the domains of digital health, payment, education, Internet of Things, security, ecommerce and games. Together with our syndication partners, we have invested more than USD 25 millions.

Sami Lampinen, Managing Partner at Inventure comments: “The tech ecosystem in the region is growing strongly, with multiple companies outdoing European rivals. We see a very high number of experienced entrepreneurs and innovations with global potential. In 2015, we expect to increase our investment activities, welcoming new companies to our portfolio and building global growth companies. We continue working towards our vision to transform Inventure from a leading Finnish investor to a global high-tech investor, creating superior returns to our investors and entrepreneurs.”

With the launch of EUR 70 million Inventure Fund II, Inventure has strengthened the team to identify new investment opportunities and support existing portfolio companies with strategic and operational insights. Even though the focus of the fund is on companies originating from the Nordics and Baltics, Inventure will continue increasing its global footprint.

Tatiana Issaeva, Venture Capital Investment Manager at European Investment Fund comments: “By now, Inventure has firmly become one of the key early stage investors in Finland. Its reinforced team, well-functioning seed program and improved image will further benefit vibrant Finnish startup eco-system.
