Even when sharing belongings amongst trusted-peers, individuals might feel an underlying unease in the potential conflict that would arise, should the object be broken. Traditional insurance policies are also built on a premise of an ownership which has been a challenge in peer-to-peer transactions. According to a study by Lloyds, which investigated the current state of risk management on sharing economy platforms, 74% of users don’t feel safe to share belongings with other individuals if insurance is not provided.
Today’s launch of Omocom – the Stockholm-based B2B Insurtech solution which desires to fill in the trust gap and provide on-demand insurance for both circular and sharing economy platforms.
